Completed: Strawberry Fields Baby Quilt

Aaaah.  How are you all doing?  We’ve just got back from our summer holiday, so I’m feeling suitably… relaxed…  I’ve been without my sewing machine for over a week, so been doing a bit of tapestry instead.  Slowly….

So I don’t really have anything new to show you, but I remembered I completely forgot to share this little quilt I made a couple of months ago – it was a commission (sqeeeee!!) from a friend of a friend.  I was a little hesitant to accept at first, as life is already pretty busy, but then I realised that it was an opportunity to be seized.   So I seized it!

The brief was ‘Something about 2′ square, with strawberries.’  I cast about a bit for coordinating fabrics – I didn’t have any strawberry prints, but managed to find a decent selection on the internet, including a tiny scrap of this large scale vintage print.  There was only enough for 3 large squares, so this helped to determine the final design.

I kept it pretty simple, although I also pieced the back in one large-scale block to make it kind of double-sided.

Pretty proud of those points, actually ;), though you can’t see them that clearly here!  It was lovely to send it off all wrapped up to its new owner.

We’re all back home now, so I can get back to all my half-done projects.  There are many…

Hope you’re all enjoying the end of summer!  See you soon 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! I have to say, I absolutely loved making it – it’s made be a bit quilting-obsessed at the moment!
